Crashed suit

Crashed suit

Randy de Puniet

What keeps it safe?

For a MotoGP rider the importance of a good leather suit cannot be underestimated. Not only does it provide the first layer of defense, a comfortable suit makes that the rider is not distracted in any way and he can focus on racing only.. Let's take a look at a crashed suit of Randy de Puniet and see how the different parts of his suit help him to walk away from a crash without injuries.

Shoulderpart

TPU aluminium

This lightweight dual-comp protector consists of a 3D, pre-shaped honeycomb structure of TPU material, with an aluminium high-impact shield, for ultimate sliding. It increases the level of protection.

Dual-comp

Kneesliders

These knee sliders are constructed from a high-performance TPU compound, combined with an extra durable PA6 compound. These quality compounds offer good feedback to Randy when sliding through corners.

TPU aluminium

Elbowprotector

The aluminium high-impact shield makes for ultimate sliding. Under the elbow part is ergonomically shaped, CE-approved armour, to maximize impact-resistance while preserving freedom of movement.

Kangaroo leather

Higher abrasion resistance

Compared with cowhide, kangaroo leather is known specifically for its lighter weight and higher abrasion resistance. This provides even greater protection in case of a slide on the track.

Double leather

seat

The seat of a garment is a critical impact zone. To prevent the stitches from tearing, when sliding over the tarmac, we reinforce the leather seat, giving two layers of protection.

VCS|speed hump

with hydra bag inside

The air inlet at the top, and the perforated foam inside are designed to let air flow through the suit, spreading over Randy's back. With a hydra bag inside, he can keep hydrated during races.

ProlifeĀ® protector

at the knees

This perfectly shaped lightweight protector is made of flexible foam with a microporous cell structure. It provides exceptional multi-impact shock absorption.

Stretchlips

for freedom of movement

Not only does the suit have to offer protection from abrasion and impact, it also has to be comfortable and provide a rider the flexibility he needs. Stretch lips allow Randy to move as he wishes.
